Women's: We've found that by creating a women-only option, it makes for an intimidation-free experience for female-identifying riders.
COMBA got its start in 1991 when a group of mountain bikers decided to start repairing and improving the trails they rode nearly every day. From those simple roots COMBA has grown to provide a broad range of services touching all aspects of mountain biking, allowing them to support partner land managers in building world-class MTB experiences.
Their volunteers and trail crew build and improve trails in the Central Front Range and their certified instructors educate local mountain bikers to help them get the most from the sport. Â
Since 2016, COMBA has helped bring about exciting new bike-specific trails such as Little Scraggy, North Elk Creek, South Dakota Ridge, and the awesome new trail system at Floyd Hill featuring The Sluice bike-only descent trail.
Â
COMBA is a non-profit organization funded solely by memberships and donations.
They work hard to maintain, improve and create great trails &Â riding experiences for everyone who enjoys our sport.Â
Looking to meet other female riders, develop your MTB skills, and learn how to work on your bike? COMBA women's program offers great times, on and off the bike! They help foster and grow our community through group rides, hands-on mechanics classes, skills clinics, trail building events, and gear swaps.Â
The park is home to 16 miles of multi-use trails and features 4 one-way- descending, bike-only trails of various skill levels and allows visitors to hike or bike through an area filled with historical reminders of Colorado’s gold rush days. The trail system creates opportunities for passive outdoor recreation and heritage tourism while giving hikers, mountain bikers and nature and history lovers an incredible chance to see historic venues at the epicenter of Colorado’s Gold Rush. Some trails will include portions of the railroad bed from the historic Gilpin Tramway (which was the only two-foot narrow-gauge railroad in Colorado in the 1800s).
